TabWarden – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

TabWarden ("the Extension") is a browser productivity tool for Google Chrome. It helps you manage open tabs, enforce daily time limits on websites, block adult content, and view local browsing analytics. This policy describes what data the Extension accesses, why, and how it is handled.

2. Data We Access and Why

To deliver its features, the Extension reads certain information from your browser. All of this information stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

3. Data We Do Not Access

TabWarden does not access or collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• Passwords, credentials, or authentication data
• Page content (text, images, videos, or form inputs on websites you visit)
• Financial or payment information
• Your location, IP address, or GPS data
• Personal communications such as emails, messages, or chat logs
• Health or medical information
• Keystrokes, mouse movements, clicks, or scroll position

4. How Data Is Stored

All data is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area provided by the Chrome browser that lives entirely on your device. It is not synced to Google servers or any cloud service. Usage history is automatically deleted after 30 days on a rolling basis. You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome.

5. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used only as described:

• tabs – Read open tab URLs/titles; enforce tab limits; redirect blocked tabs.
• storage – Save your settings and local usage data on-device.
• alarms – Schedule background tasks (tab cleanup every 2 min, time tracking every 30 sec, daily reset, weekly report).
• webNavigation – Detect page navigations to check adult-content and time-limit rules before a page loads.
• notifications – Display a weekly browsing summary as a local desktop notification.

6. Third-Party Services

TabWarden does not integrate with any analytics platforms, advertising networks, or third-party services. The Extension's popup interface loads a stylesheet from Google Fonts (for typography only); no user data is included in that request beyond what a standard browser font request contains (your IP address, as handled by Google's standard privacy policy). No other external connections are made.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, license, or share any data with any third party, advertiser, data broker, or analytics service — because we do not collect any data in the first place.

8. Children's Privacy

TabWarden is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. The adult-content blocking feature is designed to help users restrict access to explicit material, not to collect any information about users.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a future version of the Extension, the updated policy will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
